Puyallup's new Public Safety Facility, currently under construction, is the result of an in-depth process of assessment and design. Mackenzie developed a needs assessment, working with City administration, police and jail command staff, and the municipal court judge to evaluate current building conditions and determine needs for the next 50+ years.
An extensive existing facility analysis of renovation, expansion, or relocation options was conducted for City Council consideration. These studies considered multiple sites, phasing variables, and cost considerations to identify the highest and best options. Working closely with the City, Police Department, and City Council, an alternative site was identified to support the relocation into an existing building, which is also home to the regional fire authority administrative offices.
