Pools restored to their historic form at Mt. Hood.

Over the decades, three naturalistic pools behind Timberline Lodge fell into disrepair and were buried in debris. Having worked on several projects at Timberline over the years, Mackenzie was asked to prepare drawings and construction support to restore the pools, which involved re-engineering the water infrastructure, assessing the original intent of the pools, and resurfacing the bottom of the pools. The project gained approval from a variety of federal and local stakeholders to enable construction within a short seasonal timeframe. Working closely with the contractor and client in construction, Mackenzie was able to collaborate on a variety of site specific issues from the way the water falls into the pools to protecting the western bumblebee.
