Mackenzie has a long history of providing cost-efficient and creative design solutions to a broad array of federal clients, each with its own unique needs, challenges, and goals. These clients have included the USPS, US Army, US Navy, US Air National Guard, US Army Corps of Engineers, the Architect of the Capitol, the US VA, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Bonneville Power Administration, the US Forest Service, the US General Services Administration, the US FDA, and quasi-governmental entities such as the Port of Seattle and the Port of Portland. Projects have ranged in size and complexity, from small-scale tenant improvements to large, logistically complex facilities. The unifying factor in our portfolio of federal work is our commitment to design excellence, and the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Mackenzie has successfully implemented both design-build and design-bid-build project delivery methods for the federal government. To condense the schedule and simplify the decision making process, we use a streamlined design process adapted to each project's unique characteristics. Mackenzie and our consultants work to develop strategies for quality cost-effective solutions and fast-track design packages. During design, we work to optimize communication and integration of design and construction solutions to streamline development, and work to identify opportunities and alternate design solutions allowed to simplify the building construction. The team has also forged strong relationships with construction and manufacturing partners to incorporate construction systems at the early stages of the project.

Mackenzie and our consultants work to develop strategies for quality cost-effective solutions and fast-track design packages. During design, Mackenzie works to facilitate the communication and integration of design solutions and cost estimating and streamlines the development of a Building Information Model. We work with the construction team to identify opportunities based on the nature of the project and consider alternative methods allowed by the RFP including simplified building systems, pre-engineered elements, or manufactured solutions.
