Mackenzie served as the Architect of Record for this project and provided structural engineering services, life safety, and exterior envelope design. The client needed more space for this manufacturing facility, and the design team was able to work within the existing volume and create a new multievel second floor plate that met their growing functional requirements.
DESIGN DRIVERS
The project, which advances the client's manufacturing capabilities, was completed without disrupting operations even as a second level was built within the facility.
The facility contains lab, office, clean room, and manufacturing functions.
The design expanded labs into lower space and office space into upper, while a new area for manufacturing pods in the clean room.
The design maintains fire separations and full horizontal fire separation while utilizing the whole area.
