The Everett Municipal Building, a 10-story downtown office building built in 1980, was an aging facility in desperate need of both functional and aesthetic upgrades. Mackenzie's team of interior designers and architects embraced the challenge and helped deliver a completely renovated building. The team took the project from master planning through completion, with tenant improvements modernizing workspaces, modernized elevator systems, a reroof, a new HVAC and controls system, among many other upgrades.
Mackenzie's project partners included general contractor BnBuilders; GFT for MEP; and Greenbusch for acoustic design.

The project represents a large-scale remodel informed by an in-depth planning process.
As part of the City vision to reorganize and consolidate services, including off-site staff, the City of Everett hired Mackenzie to guide them through a programming and planning process to determine immediate, near-term, and long-term needs.
Mackenzie assisted the City in successfully applying to the State for an alternative construction delivery, and the project was delivered through the GC/CM method.
The design team shepherded the project through many steps, including master planning, programming, permitting, and design and delivery.
